SEMA's Smart Batmobile Looks a Little Cramped

Batsmart

I can almost hear Comic Book Guy from "The Simpsons": Worst. Batmobile. Ever.

Still, the Batsmart has its charm. The creator of the classic TV version of the Batmobile, George Barris, showed off this funky little creation at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas. Yes, it's a Smart ForTwo duded up for Gotham crime-fighting, complete with a rear jet-exhaust and high-mounted rear wings.

Not to get all nerdy, but the Batsmart is clearly more influenced by the Batmobiles of the Keaton-Kilmer-Clooney era than by the more creative and impressive Tumbler of Christopher Nolan's darker incarnation of the Caped Crusader.

According to Autoblog, 40 lucky fans will be able to get behind the wheel of one of these. Keep an eye on smart42parts.com for updates. The standard package won't include the jet exhaust or signature roof flutes, but there must be some girl out there who will be impressed by this, right? No? Anyone?

Holy crap Robin, this car is too small! Did you just fart?

I'd say it was influenced more by the Adam West era batmobile than the Keaton-Kilmer-Clooney era batmobiles.

Either way, how is Batman supposed to roll without dubs?

WTF, looks more like Batmite's car.

What a piece of junk!

Next, will they be turning a VW rabbit into the new Mad Max???
