2009 Nissan 370Z Priced at $29,930

Nissan announced today that the redesigned 370Z coupe will start at $29,930. The car comes in base and Touring trims, and spokesman John Schilling said Nissan will announce full pricing for the car in a few weeks. The new price represents a $1,420 increase over the 2008 350Z coupe — the '09 350Z is available only as a convertible — but new standard features include an electronic stability system and steering-wheel audio controls. Both were previously optional.

The 370Z goes on sale in January, with a convertible version to follow.

that seems like what the g37 should start at, not a nissan...this thing should be low 20s. i mean, it's got the same v6 that practically every other nissan/infiniti has. nothing special here. why the cost premium? oh well, maybe i'm just getting old.

George

Cody, the VQ37 is only used by the G37 coupe, sedan, and soon convertible. (and EX37 overseas)

This isn't your Altima's VQ35

i know, it's a stroked version of the vq35..still not much different. i imagine we'll be seeing it in more and more nissans though...guess time will tell.

my point is that mass production and widespread use is suppose to bring costs down, but it never seemed to happen with nissan's vq engine.

also, 30k just seems high to me for this type of car. i remember when these types of cars topped out around 20k...again, might just be getting old.

First "Z" models came @ $3,500

cody

yeah, it's amazing what's considered a bargain today. i remember when the outgoing Z came out, and journalists said that it starting around 20K was reasonably priced...i didn't think so. i know, inflation has had a little something to do with it and the content/complexity of these cars has driven up cost, but it still seems strange when you think about it.

George

I will refer you to real inflation
Look at that M3 go! (and this is not an M3 we want to be fast)

$30,000+ for a sports car with 330+ horsepower, near 50/50 body weight distribution, exceptional handling and great styling . . . this is a bargain. Add $20,000 to get to a Boxter (not even Boxter S) and you'll see what I mean. If its bargains you want, you should not be seeking 2 seater sports cars.
