Dodge, Chrysler Reduce Sedan Trim Levels, Pricing
While many have written Chrysler off as irrelevant, the company remains a major producer and marketer of automobiles. Today, the company announced some last-minute fine-tuning of its 2009 vehicle lineup.
The changes affect the Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 300 and Chrysler Sebring. Chrysler has essentially eliminated the base trim level for these three sedans, basically resulting in a discount on each model compared to last year’s model with the same content. Like Honda, Toyota and Ford, Chrysler now offers its four-cylinder powertrain across all midsize sedan trims.
The company also appears to be distinguishing the two brands more than before. The Sebring now costs more and is better-equipped compared to the Avenger. Same goes for the difference between a 300 and a Charger.

I visited the Chrysler webiste last night and noticed the limited selection.
Clicking on the models tab for the Chrysler 300, there was no model under $40k.
The positive aspect of this is that these models will go out with the last ones being the very best the company has to offer.
The Walter P. Chrysler editions are some of the nicest, respectable, and stately trims available for these models.
