Up Close: 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Wagonupclose

Since its 2008 redesign, I've thought Cadillac's CTS entry-level luxury sedan was a sharp-looking car, and it also looks pretty good as a wagon, which we spied at the Los Angeles auto show. The front of the wagon carries the sedan's familiar design, but there are some interesting new cues in back, like the raked C-pillar separating the rear side windows and tall taillights that climb up the back of the car. The 25-cubic-foot cargo area isn't particularly expansive for a wagon, but it is nearly twice the size of the CTS sedan's trunk.

For many people in the U.S., wagons have a cool-factor that's about on par with minivans. That could change, though, as sleek sport wagons like the 2009 Audi A4 Avant and this new CTS wagon hit U.S. roads. More photos below.

That's a great-looking wagon! A car can be practical and cool at the same time. And that color looks super, too.

The back looks like a Saab. The A4 avant looks much better, and I just saw a white 3 series wagon yesterday (I didn't even know they still made those) and that looked hot.

what a HUGE blind spot!

the A4 Avant still looks better...gets better gas mileage too.

You guys must have a vendetta, or be ashamed of your parents, repeat it enough times and you might make it true.

Every story, newspaper, magazine, here, gotta be self hate.

A european wagon, with a yakima rack for toys, is much more attractive than most suv's, but just MHO.

Yeah i definetly would go for an. It is just a hard job to do to make a very sporty sedan into a wagon (not very sporty vehicles). Unless maybe the Mazda 3. The back lights look too much like a Volvo, stretching up to the roof. Too boxy for me too. The only luxury wagons that I like are the Mercedes E class wagon and the Saab 9-3 or 9-5 wagon. Every other luxury wagon (including this one) looks too boxy or too soccer momish.

I can hardly wait to see one and order it. Everyone who has seen the pictures of it think it's really cool. We need to get these brain washed buyers away from the imports.
