2011 Ford Fiesta Available Features Released
Ford, in its apparent love of mini-sites, has launched a new 2011 Ford Fiesta webpage. Call it premature, but with Ford desperately proving its relevancy to Congress, displaying some of its future rides makes a lot of sense at the moment.
Along with a few pictures of the car — which Ford points out are of the 2009 European model — there’s also some information regarding available content.
Judging from the luxury-like features, it appears Ford will market the Fiesta as a premium subcompact competitor to the Honda Fit. However, always more important to car shoppers is the list of standard features, which Ford has not released. But note that the 2011 Fiesta will sport standard stability control when it goes on sale in 2010. That’s a couple years before it will be mandated by federal law.
Check out the features and more just-released images of the Fiesta sedan which will go on sale in the U.S. in early 2010.
Available features include:
- 1.6-liter inline-four with twin independent variable valve timing
- Powershift automatic transmission
- Microsoft Sync
- Bluetooth
- Keyless entry
- Push-button start
- Sport-tuned suspension
- 16-inch aluminum wheels
- Three cloth and leather options
- Seven airbags
- Standard electronic stability system

Why do I read "Ford Parade" in Chinese on the plate?

if ford craps out on us and ends up giving us only the sedan and/or coupe version of this car (like they did with the focus) i will forever curse them and never consider buying a vehicle or stock from them ever again. it will be proof they are completely out of touch with their own customers.
that being said, one odd thing i notice about the photos above is the rear doors. they are large, and the shape of them 'cuts' into the rear well arch. the edge of the door appears to come awfully close to the opening of the wheel well. most rear doors on a car follow the curve of the rear wheel which often coincides with the L-shape of the back seat.

This is the Fiesta I don't care about but most likely will sell the most here. I want the hatch like in the UK. Ford better not mess this up. The Fiesta outsell the Yaris, Fit and even the related Mazda 2 in Europe so please no big surprises for the US market.

Johnyt & Cxv,
Ford announced and this site reported that there will be a hatch upon release for the NA market. They announced that back in May.
