Murano

MotherProof likes its cars smooth, luxurious, and these days, it increasingly likes fuel-efficient ones, too. Does the 2009 Nissan Murano deliver in all of those areas, or does it come up short? Perhaps most importantly, do the kids like it? Read the full review to find out.

Our girls are living in outer space.

"Both inside and out, the 2009 Murano is classy and sophisticated..."

Inside - yes. Out... Look at the front grill and show me where is it classy or sophisticated. To me it is all goooooffy.

"Cargo/trunk space (Puny, Fair, Ample, Galore): Galore"
What galore? Small SUVs as CRV or Outlander have more cargo space.

And fuel economy is really bad if you apply that it needs premium.

I think the cargo space is quite good for its class but the Ford Edge does have more. The Outlander might because it is so deep.

The fuel economy is slightly better than a V-6 altima in the city mpg and a little worse highway.

i tend to agree w/ Tony -- the Murano is very very nice if you haven't been in a new car for a while. However, competition is fierce and a lot of other makers' products are very very nice too and don't scoot towards the $40k mark so easily.

also in agreement with Tony, the car is well-made and looks well put-together, but by no means "sophisticated"

CVT.
Most people can run regular grade gasoline without even noticing any difference.

If it had the manumatic interface, I'd run premium, but it doesn't so I'd run mid-grade.
