Cars.com Carbon Offset Update

Terrapasslogo

In this update to Cars.com's carbon-offset program, the fuel-efficient Hyundai Sonata got the most drive time from our stuff, hence it racked up the most emissions, with nearly 570 pounds of CO2 emissions. We definitely had a wide variety of cars in our fleet during the summer, including hybrids and full-size SUVs. To find out your own vehicle's carbon emissions and how to offset them, visit TerraPass.

Just as an FYI, I know that I am a stooge for Carbonfund.org, but if you want to save some money when offsetting your car, Carbonfund.org is the lowest cost offset provider (we can do that, we are a non-profit). All of our offsets are certified, third-party verified, and retired when you donate to us. We adhere to the highest standards and are one of few non-profit organizations in this industry, meaning that we put our mission, not profits, first.

Paul,
We looked at both organizations before going with TerraPass. We picked them for specific reasons, but there is nothing wrong with Carbonfund and I think people should check out both if they're interested in offsetting their carbon.
