can't you get these applications via some other devices? and what if you have verizon and still under contract? seriously, the gas saving thing is beginning to reach.

If you're using Verizon, well, you just suck. Hahahaha.

Of course, my Bimmer does most of these things for me, but my iPhone can be the back.

If you have Verizon as your cell phone provider you can always transfer your number to AT&T. Fuel saving apps are not exclusive to the iPhone as the article would make you believe as you can get them for Blackberry, Treo and just about any other phone. If you have an Acura RL you can get this info for free as it's standard.

I know one thing that the I phone can't do and that's get good reception in the middle of the country. My nephew has one and always has to borrow a phone from someone else to make a call because there is no reception. I told him that a $400 phone is worth it if you can't make call.

My friend has an iPhone and she saves gas because she doesn't have to go home to check her email.

A lot of these features are in built in my better half - "You're going too fast" - "do you know the speed limit" etc. Only advantage with the iphone is you can switch it off!

Actually, the iPhone's accelerometer is the key tech feature that Blackberrys or anything else does not have, that makes many of these applications iPhone-specific. That is the purpose of the article.

I thought we've gone over this topic before.
It cannot play music through a bluetooth connection. Meaning any bluetooth stereo headset, speakers will not work with the iPhone - the so-called music phone!

What's so special about the accelerometer?
Even my low end Sony Ericsson phone has it.

BTW, I was told that ipods were outsold by SE's music enabled phones in 2006 by a pretty big margin.
