When I go into "Build your Audi" I cannot build one with a manual transmission. Any reason why?

This car looks very good but the V6 is way too expensive. They have really moved into BMW territory with the pricing.

LM

Well, it IS a direct competitor.

LM,
Either it's not available as of now or they made a booboo on their website.

I agree with Sheth. The V6 is way too pricy for the category. Just thin about it for a second...
Both the Mercedes C class and BMW 3 class start around 33000 WITH a V6. The A4 STARTS at 40000 with a V6.
I was just at the dealer yesterday and they had a loaded 3.2 A4. The sticker stunned me at 52,540.00! Thats BMW 5 and Mercedes E class territory.

I just bought an 09 A4 2.0T. Before doing so, I test drove the Mercedes C300 and BMW 328xi (both several times). The A4 is bigger and faster and the styling is more distinctive. A word of advice on test driving the A4 2.0T: make sure that you get a chance to really push the engine. When I first tested this car, it was on a suburban road with a 35 mph speed limit. I was not impressed with the engine at all. The second time, I convinced the dealer to allow me to test drive it on the highway. WOW! what a big difference. This car is very powerful and the handling is outstanding!

Jorgen,
The new A4 is improved, and larger than previous models, but your comments say a lot about the 2 liter engine - you really have to wring it out to get the performance you like. That doesn't bode well for the longevity of the powertrain. If I was going German, I'd rather have the C300. Maybe it's less exciting but 10 years from now a Benz will perform like it did the day it rolled out of the showroom.
