Cars.com Reviews the 2008 Buick Lucerne Super

Angle1

The most notable addition to the 2008 Buick Lucerne is an upgraded trim level, called Super. Cars.com reviewer Joe Wiesenfelder dubs this the Super-Overpriced trim level in his review. With a whole new line-up of Buicks waiting in the wings, can the Super version of the Lucerne keep things afloat for the near-luxury GM brand? Read Wiesenfelder's full review below to find out.

Why don't full-size cars get split fold down rear seats? Is it because automakers think there's enough room already or because of structural integrity issues?

The review was pretty negative. Other than the mileage I think this is a nice car. Warren Brown's review was much more positive.

The seats fold in the Taurus.

I like the Buick Lucerne, most people don't even know it is a Buick, but I will stick with the 6 cylinder, reliable and good gas mileage.

This car isnt a sports sedan and shouldnt be treated as such. Its a comfortable highway cruiser with a lot of space and decent handling. Considering the price of cars like the ES350, A6, MKS, etc. the Lucerne Super is hardly overpriced.

George

It is overpriced considering it has an archaic 4 speed automatic.

"It is overpriced considering it has an archaic 4 speed automatic."

The average luxury car owner doesnt know or care how many gears they have. The RL costs $50k and only has a 5 speed auto. Same goes for the RX350. There isnt a huge difference between a 5 speed and a 4 speed. If I liked the Lucerne I wouldnt not buy it based on its tranny.
