First Look: 2010 Cadillac SRX
Cadillac has revealed three images of the production 2010 SRX crossover. Check out all three below and let us know what you think in the comments.
If you’re a current SRX owner, please be aware this is not based on the vehicle you’re currently in. The roots of this SRX go back to the Provoq concept shown at this year’s Detroit auto show in January. It’s loosely based on the same platform that underpins the new Saturn Vue, meaning that while this Cadillac may be bigger than the Vue, it will be considerably smaller than the current SRX.
Cadillac hasn’t provided any details on the new SRX’s power plant, but we’d guess it will get the same V-6 options as the CTS sedan: a 3.6-liter V-6 putting out either 263 or 304 hp.
More images can be found below, along with links to our coverage of the Provoq concept.

Awesome!

Why not just put a Cadillac badge on a Vibe and call it the Cimarron?

Nice design, I like it.
About the "Cimarron" commentary, come on guys, Cadillac know their product and they will not do that mistake again, and by the way, you guys were complaining about the need to downsize..

It looks like a Suzuki XL7 from the back

Downsize =\= Badge Engineering.
The Buick's version looks MUCH BETTER than this.

Buick does not have a platform-mate to this new SRX. The only other model that shares this platform is the upcoming Saab 9-4X.

I like it...I just wish the designers wouldn't have to swept back the rear so much in the name of fuel economy.
Makes it look asiany a less Caddy's signature stealth motif they've been using for almost a decade now.
Caddy switches its design theme every decade...so I wonder what airplane inspire design they'll choose next?

Keith,
It's pretty much the same platform as the Saturn Vue and upcoming Equinox from Chevy as well as the Saab. We're waiting on exact specs but we did some photo looks here of this next to the Vue and it appears to be about 6 inches longer - best guess.

Keith,
It looks exactly like the Buick Enclave from my viewpoint.
If it is not the same vehicle, why make them look alike?

Dave T.,
All insider information says that the SRX and 9-4X are designed around the so-called Theta-premium which is supposedly a marriage of Epsilon II and Theta. Vue, Equinox, Terrain(?) are designed around Theta. And as you stated it does appear longer and more than likely will have a wider track as well. It may be semantics but this is not just a Vue with Cadillac sheetmetal.

Keith,
We'll know more later, but from what I've heard there isn't as much advancement as we were led to believe in the platforms due to cost. Regardless, most folks get confused over what sharing a platform actually means, it is not badge engineering.
There can be a longer body, more interior space, all different interior materials, obviously different engines, transmission, suspensions etc. The platforms are really designed as a basis for the project to start on.

Dave T.,
I was going to get into the ambiguosly defined terms of "platform" and "architecture" in my last comment but figured I'd rather spend my time getting pysched for the stimulating rehash of the fleet sale discussion now that you've posted another movers and losers including the Malibu!

It's nice looking and seems to look a little better than it's comaptition as we know it's no longer in compatition with the BMW X5, Acura MDX, Infiniti FX or the Mercedes-Benz M Class. The SRX has been scaled down in size and is now in direct compatition with the BMW X3, Acura RDX, Infiniti EX and the new Mercedes-Benz GLK so I think it looks great for it's class of compatition.

Enclave, Acadia, Outlook, now the SRX. I wish there were real differences instead of badge slapping. We wonder why the foreign mfrs. are ripping the US a new on
