Top 10 Most Stolen Vehicles
The National Insurance Crime Bureau released its list of the top 10 most stolen vehicles, but just because your car isn’t on it doesn’t mean that you shouldn't lock your car doors. No matter how where you live or how quickly you plan to return to your car, the easiest way to prevent car theft is to avoid dumb mistakes such as leaving your doors unlocked and keys in the ignition. Also, car alarms, fuel cutoff mechanisms and GPS devices with tracking technology can help combat car theft. The list isn’t too different from '06, here are 2007's big winners in the auto theft sweepstakes.
1. 1995 Honda Civic
2. 1991 Honda Accord
3. 1989 Toyota Camry
4. 1997 Ford F-150
5. 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500
6. 1994 Acura Integra
7. 2004 Dodge Ram
8. 1994 Nissan Sentra
9. 1988 Toyota Pickup
10. 2007 Toyota Corolla

Number 9: a 1988 Toyota pick up? Really?

Strangely enough, the Toyota Pickup bumps up to 4th place here in Oregon.

It's stolen alot because it gets parted out in chop shops.
All those vehicles were big sellers. The more of them on the road the more of them in accidents.
That ups the demand for parts for repairs.
I can see the Toyota Pickup going to #4 in Oregon, they were very big sellers in the Pacific Northwest. They were also pretty darned indestructible.
