New Car Tracker: 7.31.08

Acuratl

Since our previous New Car Tracker update, Ford and General Motors have announced release dates for many products, up to the 2011 model year. Lengthy specs are now available on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, and the 2010 Ford Mustang has an official release date. Both will hit the streets in early 2009 to resume the pony car rivalry that’s been on hiatus since 2002. If we've left off a car you're interested in, please let us know in the comments. As always, we remind our readers that we don't list models that are rumored; we only list confirmed vehicles.

Any word on the Chevrolet MPV based on the Opel Zafira due in a year or two?

SLM,
That is not made official yet. We only go with official word. so all of the above models and dates are accurate and as up to date as we have knowledge through our sources or press releases.

Tony

Do you know anything about the diesel Mitsubishi Lancer?

I have not heard about it outside of another comment left on our blog. I don't believe Mitsubishi has a clean diesel plan for the U.S. at this point.

2010 Ford Fusion: Early 2008

Sure this is not coming out Early 2009?

Thank you for the rest of the Info!

Anyone know if Chevrolet has plans for a new Impala?

L.P.

Keith- Yes there are plans for a new design, along with a new platform, but it will not be available until the 2011 model year. It would probably ride on a stretched Epsilon II platform. The current Impala is based on the aging W platform, in which the Buick LaCrosse shares as well, but the LaCrosse will be replaced by the Epsilon-based Invicta. Expect the next generation Impala to look much better than the current. Although the next-gen Impala will be FWD.
