Cars.com Reviews 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Jetta

The 2009 VW Jetta SportWagen is strong in terms of handling and interior quality, according to Cars.com reviewer Joe Wiesenfelder, but that may not be the Jetta's greatest advantage as it enters the market. With cavernous cargo room and the fuel efficiency of a car, the Jetta wagon comes along at a time when SUVs have been discredited by how much it costs to keep their thirsty tanks filled. Wiesenfelder predicts that vehicles like the Jetta SportWagen will inherit old SUV buyers.

Wow. Just a bit late with the wagon entrant there, VW. You think they would have learned their lesson with the VW Beetle Convertible (4 years late), "Tigwan" (3 years late) and the latest version of the Jetta itself (3 years late).

And then there are the future "late" products: the 50-state TDI option and the Scirocco.

Rants about VW's crappy product planning aside, this looks like a great little wagon. Let's hope that pent up demand doesn't make them all but unattainable.
