When Courtney Messenbaugh thinks of Formula One racing, her first instinct is: "Sweet." However, she then thinks of the vast amount of gas these vehicles need to consume in order to achieve that kind of performance. Then she thinks, "Considerably less sweet." That's why she's excited by BMW's plans to build a hybrid racecar that can achieve the same kind of competitive performance using less gas and producing fewer emissions.
