GM's 72-Hour Sale, 0% Financing on Chevy, Pontiac, GMC, Buick

Update: Check out the included models here.

If you haven’t been reading the newspaper, watching TV or surfing the web for the past few months, you might not know that domestic automakers are in a bit of a pickle. The down economy is hitting everyone hard these days, and the Detroit Big Three are no exception. Today, GM announced it would launch a 72-hour sale starting tomorrow, June 24, and running through June 30, offering 0% financing for 72 months on most Chevy, Pontiac, GMC and Buick vehicles. We’re still waiting on word of specifics, but Corvettes and other premium models are usually excluded in such sales.

GM is also adding another $500 in bonus cash for buyers who buy instead of lease. Typically financing offers are used in place of cash back, and the current cash-back offers on many GM products are quite huge. Check current cash back offers here.

We’ll update this post when more information comes in.

Wow... desperate, but however, this is excellent time to buy a Malibu, assuming that it is part of the sale.

We recently test drove the Accord, Malibu and Camry and ended up buying the Accord as it was heads and tails the better choice. If I was shopping based on price I think we would have purchased the Camry as you can get an LE for under $20,000. My neighbor purchased a Malibu and is very happy with it, however it has been back to the shop 4x in just 8 months. That's 4x too many for my liking. Overwell you technically can't go wrong with any of them, however in this day and age GM needs to build a catagory winner and they still have yet to do that - hence the discounting and financing specials.

Malibu is still selling very well and is not part of sale. Actually you can throw a blanket over Accord Camry and Malibu right now, no clear category winner anywhere to be found. And as for quality, I drive by my local Honda and Toyota dealers daily and they have plenty of cars in thier shops, inlduing my neighbors Camry 3 times in the first 6 months he has owned it. People build these cars, not god. No perfection to be found.

For every Malibu sold there are four Camry's and five Accords sold.

No clear catagory winner...Enjoy the dope-slap.
