Ch-Ch-Changes: 2009 Nissan Frontier, Xterra

2009nissanxterra

Nissan’s truck lineup has never been the most dominant, but there may be renewed interest in its smaller Frontier now that gas prices are so high. That’s probably why Nissan is upgrading it, along with the Xterra SUV, for 2009. Most of the mechanicals, like engine and transmission choices, remain unchanged. Both go on sale this July.

Changes for the Frontier include a new grille, headlights and wheels. There are also new trim levels and option packages.

Changes for the Xterra include a new front end, roof-mounted offroad lights for certain models, new seat materials, new wheels and, most importantly, standard side curtain airbags. There are also new option packages and redefined trim levels. The technology option package with a Rockford Fosgate stereo, XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, steering-wheel audio controls and an auxiliary input jack will be included at no charge on the S, Off-Road and SE trim levels.
