Infiniti Thinks G37 Will Look Good With its Top Off
Nissan, parent of luxury brand Infiniti, recently announced that it will debut a convertible version of the new Infiniti G37 coupe next year. Hoping to capitalize on the car’s brisk sales, which were up 80% in April, Nissan will roll out the convertible in February 2009.
The G37 coupe’s platform is related to the Nissan 350Z sports car, which also has a roadster version, making the G37 a natural choice to get a convertible variant. Cars.com reviewer Kelsey Mays called the 2008 G37 a "compelling alternative" to BMW's 3 Series.

Should have been done a while ago...
I appreciate cheeky post titles but this one... um... isn't this a family site?? :-\ Just saying.
AC,
I don't want to dismiss your comment and appreciate you're readership but this has got to be one of the tamest headlines out there. Sites like CNN.com have some of the wildest "news" around and there's actually racy content to go along with those headlines.
I think a very cheeky headline for a car topic isn't going to harm our youth.
Let's hope they don't watch the nightly news about congressmen in bathrooms and governors' trips to hotels ;)
Let's keep things in perspective eh? Even a 7 yr old knows when something looks good with it's top off ;)
Dave, thanks for your thoughts. Just to clarify: I'm not concerned about kids being corrupted by a little headline here or on CNN. It just came across as crass, which is not a word that comes to mind when I think of this fine blog that seems to cater to a diverse audience--male and female, young and old. Wouldn't have thought twice if a tuner mag like DUB had this headline, but I expect something different here.
We keep things pretty straight-forward here and this one did not even register a "crass" blip for me or our copy editor. Is our radar that far off?
uhmmm ... who here thinks this "anonymous chick" should be banned from cars.com ?
The "ayes" have it.
This is what Infiniti needs to boost its rather limited product range. If it's a retractable hardtop it will overshadow the Lexus SC, while erasing memories of Infiniti's only other convertible, the lackluster M30 of the early 90s. If it sells for $45,000 or less I think it will be a huge success.
Mart,
Look at the Sebring. I puked.
It better have the 7 speed automatic from the new FX.
For any Europeans who are reading this you may have heard the exciting news that Infiniti officially launches in Europe in 2008. Four of the European launch models were unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show - the new Infiniti FX50, the Infiniti EX37, the Infiniti G37 Coupé and the Infiniti G37. They are all powered by the state-of-the-art V6 or V8 petrol engines but will have different specifications to their US counterparts.
If you would like to find out more about the European specifications, visit www.infiniti.eu
I actually work for the Extended Launch Team for Infiniti and can reveal we're now accepting reservations. So if you want to be one of the first in your country to own an Infiniti simply visit www.infiniti.eu/reserve and book your place in the queue.
