Gas-Saving Moment of the Day: Vehicle Maintenance

Enginelight

Keeping your vehicle well-maintained will not only aid its resale value and keep you from experiencing mechanical problems, it will also save you money on gas. You know that "Check Engine" light you keep ignoring because the car seems to be running fine? Go get that checked out anyway. It could mean you have some kind of internal emissions control glitch that's losing you miles per gallon.

Also, keep your tires properly inflated. Your car is most efficient when the tires have the proper pressure. However, don't use the number from the tire's sidewall. Instead, look in your car's owner manual or, if you've lost that, the sticker on the doorjamb.

My "Check Engine" light came on the other day, so I opened the hood and checked,,,
