Recall Alert: 2003 Honda Accord

2003hondaaccord

Honda is recalling 353,000 2003 model year Honda Accord sedans due to a potential problem with the windshield wipers. Over time, water can leak into the wiper motor, causing corrosion and eventually wiper-motor failure.

The company will inspect all recalled vehicles and replace the wiper motors if corrosion is found. Undamaged vehicles will get a protective shield to prevent future problems. No accidents or injuries have been reported, according to Honda.

Concerned owners cant contact Honda at (800) 999-1099

Accord is recalled, Accord is recalled!!

Yup...there it goes. A first year run model is recalled for corrosion on a non-safety part. Ok, windshield wipers are for safety. *yawn*

Too bad Honda didn't recall the terrible brakes on this car. I used to own this model and the brakes sucked.

It's not like this is the first recall. There was a transmission recall a couple years ago, and we've had the warranty exteded for two seperate issues, the last of which was for the stereo head unit going dim.

As far as the brakes, I bought some Hawk HPS pads, and it's like driving (stopping) another car!

Yea! Accord is recalled. Like any other car brand
recalls it can happen to Honda. You have to give
them credit. Overall Honda cars have a good reliability record or else they wouldn't sell. I don't have a Honda now but have had several new and used with not problems. Get your accord in for repair and get over it.

KJ,

Just stop tailgating and you will be fine.
Remember, it is not only the brakes that does the stopping, but also the tyres. Plus, I am really in doubt that Honda manufacture those brakes themselves.

Dave,
You guys got a typo. Plus, does it only matter to 03 only?

Not only Accords of end of 90s beginning 2000 got extended warranty for the trannys, but those trannys are really flying. And they are costly.
Hondas get their trannys from outsourcing company. So these are not really Honda trannys.
As brakes concerns... Buy Akibono cyramic. These are wonderful and affordable. They are easy on the rotors as well.
On my minivan they go for 50K miles in front, which is great for the heavy vehicle. And rotor almost didn't change the thickness as measurment showed.

Well... I have an Accord and I saw this recall and kind of got scared and called America Honda. I was advised that there is nothing to worry about at this time because they currently have no information regarding this. I am a faithful Honda owner; I have only EVER owned Hondas. I so totally and completely believe Honda because I thought it was a little strange to find out about this recall online, instead of American Honda sending out notice. I have always been notified of something like this. And I just could not believe that American Honda would not have informed me. But when I spoke to the American Honda Rep I was re-assured that if my vehicle was affected by this recall, I would be notified by mail.

I am very upset at the company that released this information because it has everyone in frenzy about nothing. I think it is unfair to do that to people, because here everyone is thinking they can be injured driving their vehicles that they have had no problems with thus far. I just think it is unfair of NHTSA to pre-release this information and have everyone in a Panic.

I just wanted to state that I love Honda and I so believe in Honda, and I think that it is very destructive to do a thing like this to such a major Company as Honda.

P.S. DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON TV or ON THE NEWS. YOU SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WAR AND GAS PRICES.

DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON TV (c)

do you really ever believed? anyway Honda is a good choice
