Cars.com Reviews the 2008 Pontiac G8
Not only did I travel to New York City to cover the auto show last week, I also got to test drive Pontiac’s all-new sedan, the G8. The finished review is now live, complete with a video, which you can also watch to the left. I must say I liked the G8 GT a lot, but it did have some eccentricities that people will have to get used to. Read the review and feel free to ask questions in the comments below.

Aside from the hood scoops the G8 reminds me a 1986 Pontiac Grand Am. If GM is going for the retro look they are right on target. Something tells me this was not their goal. GM continues to design cars for the rental fleet.

I'm not sure how a G8 GT will fit into a rental fleet. There is nothing vanilla about the G8. This car is designed for a sport sedan enthusiast and it has no resemblence to an '86 Grand Am or any Grand Am made between '84 and '91. But everyone has their reasons for being reminded of a car in their past.

Other than using the twin nostril, not quite a BMW-like nose, how on earth does this look like ANY Grand Am, let alone a 1986? Not even close.

Sat in the G8 at the auto show. I'm very impressed with the car's styling except for the boring rear end. If the V6 (yes V6) gets decent gas mileage and reliability is average I would consider this big time.
Note: It only favors that '86 Grand AM in the rear. Other than that all Holden...
