2009 Nissan Maxima Ready for New York

Maximateaser

Nissan will unveil its seventh-generation Maxima sedan at the New York auto show next week. Today the company provided us with some teaser images that really don’t reveal much — if any — of the car’s overall design. We’re not allowed to reveal anything more, but let’s just say this could be one of the most-discussed vehicles of the entire show when the full monty is dropped.

It's about time! And do you see that "4DSC" on the window picture? The return of the original sports sedan

Hopefully Nissan differentiated it from the Altima enough this time.

It'll probably be front-drive, which is a shame if you ask me.

Jack

Either rear wheel drive, or front drive, minus the horrible torque steer of the present model.

Taillights look kewl...from what I can tell...lol

The 4DSC makes me happy. I've got good memories of my '91 Maxima. I was really disappointed as it evolved to be a Altima look-alike over the past decade.

I worked at the Nissan plant in Smyrna TN last year and got to actually put my hands on one of the production test 09 Maximas that were around the plant. It seems that it will be somewhat larger than the current model, which I own, and the lights are elongated giving it a "going fast" look. The hood also has a new "W" type profile when viewed from the front. I did not get to see a trimmed model, but the interior size appeared to be a bit bigger than the current model. Soon after I and a co-worker looked at it, it was covered and then moved to a different, less accessible part of the plant.

Yawwwwwwwwwwwn

They finally decided to redesign that overpriced POS?
