Through Ian's Lens: 2008 Chicago Auto Show Muscle Cars
So I started off this year's Chicago Auto Show with one goal in mind for this feature: Photograph the 2008 Dodge Challenger. That goal? It was achieved with smashing success. Dodge even put three different-colored models on the floor for us to crawl around in. After fighting off crowds of onlookers and pushing my way to the front of the pack of gawkers, I decided it was time to give the domestic car companies their due by producing a Through Ian's Lens post that highlights my three favorite modern muscle cars. So without boring you with more jibber jabber about design lines and aesthetic mumbo jumbo, here are the 2008 Dodge Challenger, the 2008 Ford Mustang GT500 KR, and the Chevrolet Camaro "Bumble Bee" concept. A full set of photos is below.

Camaro will rule the new muscle car niche.
The only thing more american and cooler than american muscle cars are your american pictures of muscle cars taken... and other things too... Big fan of the carbon-fiber(esque?) racing stripes on the Challenger... though something is bugging me... maybe in the wheels / wheel-wells? I have always and will always have an (in)explicable dislike for fords (though I'd love to tool around in this one as long as none of my friends saw me... and though I love the camaro that may or may not ever be anything more than a concept... BUMBLE BEE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A BEETLE... WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY FAVORITE TRANSFORMER... WHY, I ASK, WHY (other than chevrolet paying LOTS of money)
and BTW... is your camera powered by HEMI?
Sorry... gotta post again... I think it's that the Challenger should have a wide stance... longer axels... maybe?
The third to last shot is great (of the Camaro)... though they're all great!
makes me wish Nascar was running these instead of the COT tubeframe shoeboxes with the adhesive stiker headlights.
Thems some damn skinny tires for a "muscle car"
The black Challenger that I saw as I was passing by Auburn Hills on my way to class today looks much better than this silver one. Just how much difference does the color can make!
I love how Dodge pushed the hood past the head lights to give the face of the Challenger that pissed off look. Not sure if I like the location of th fog lights. (Third picture in)Looks like they were an after thought.
Now, MOPAR needs come out with a bullet nose and a Daytona wing and then the package will be complete.
It must have taken some special engineering to get those cool alloys to hold those retro (bias-ply?) narrow tires
