Question of the Day: Would a Hybrid Make Sense for My Commute?

Askktpromobutton

Choosing what car to buy based on the specifics of your daily commute is certainly not a bad idea. For instance, it’s important to look at how much highway driving you’re doing compared to how much time you spend stopping and starting in traffic and at lights. A hybrid may be the best way to go, but it’s also possible that a high-mileage sedan could suffice if you’re only looking to save money. Check out Ask.cars.com for some straight talk.

I drive a 2005 Prius, drive 25 miles each way, on a road whose posted speed limit is 45 or 55. I drive 5 miles in town out of that 25. My Prius averages 55 mpg if I drive, 50 if my 18 year old son drives. No problems with the commute, would heartily recommend the Prius for this type of commute.
