Porsche 911 On Hold After Factory Explosion
In case you were waiting to buy a new Porsche 911, you should probably know there’s been a hiccup in production.
A gas explosion today injured two workers and put a hold on production of the luxury model at the company’s factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany. The accident was caused by a gas leak from a drying oven in the paint shop and will halt production of the car for up to three days. The plant normally turns out about 160 911s each day.
According to a statement by Porsche, the sprinklers that put out the fire submerged the paint shop and other parts of the production line under several feet of water.

Glad there were no serious injuries. Perhaps this is a message from the big spirit in the sky that it is time to bring a Cayman with a 3.8 liter motor into production :).
