Ford Prices Flex

Fordflex

One of the more curious new vehicles in Ford’s 2009 lineup is the Flex, which will attempt to merge the utility of a minivan with the style and customizability of a Scion. Sort of. For that, as Ford has just announced according to Automotive News, buyers will pay $28,995. That brings the Flex in just above the Taurus X, Ford’s other major crossover effort, which some people think may drop out over time.

That’s just the Flex’s low end, though. A variety of trims will be available, all the way up to the AWD Flex Limited, which will carry a tag of $37,255 before packages and options. (When we find additional trim pricing, we'll be sure to update.) Will people adopt a new vehicle at $30,000? Or will they long for the days of the Freestar’s oh-so-functional sliding doors?

"Will people adopt a new vehicle at $30,000?"
LOL, 30k is not what it used to be. The people who need to seat 7 and don't want a minivan have been spending north of 30 for non luxury vehicles for some time now.

I will never spend $30K for a car. Unless there wouldn't be one for under $20K.

It looks like the Scion xB doesn't it?

It looks pretty cool! Can't wait to see it. However, I have a few concerns; I am kind of short 5.2, will it have adjustable pedals like my F250 Super duty diesel? What kind of mileage will it get? How big will it be? We love our truck for towing the fifth wheel, but its kind of a hassle to park it when I am going shopping. I like lots of space, but I am now looking for something that is easier to park.

Broq, you make a good point. I was about to say that $30k really feels pretty pricey, but then I stopped and thought about it, it really isn't anymore. Just back in 2005, the average was $27,958, so I guess today $30k would be about right. Man, I've got to start earning more money! :)
