Here at Cars.com, we base our annual awards on how and why people buy and drive their cars. Our Lifestyle Awards are broken down into four categories: Family Car of the Year, Work Car of the Year, Play Car of the Year and Eco-Friendly Car of the Year. Our editors spend their days and nights test-driving countless new cars, trucks and SUVs, and from those experiences determined the best model for each category. See which cars won out, and the nominees that came close.
