First Look: 2009 Acura TSX
Acura will debut the 2009 Acura TSX at the New York Auto Show in March, but the company has given us an early glimpse at the car. We don’t know much about the model besides the fact that the grille obviously resembles the recently redone RL we saw in Chicago last week. Otherwise, we’re guessing it will remain much the same as the current TSX with various upgrades.

Oh, come on Acura - enough with the fascination of the vacuum cleaner attachment grill! The design engineers have obviously been studying Electrolux, Hoover and Bissel.
The RDX looks horrible, the RL looks even worse and now they have messed up the TSX.

I might have to look elsewhere for my next car. This Grill is so hideous.

Shouldn't this actually be an all new model based on the new Euro-Accord? I'm curious to learn more.

actually
the grill on this TSX is way better looking than the RL because the GRILL actually look like the headlights and are aline to it compared to the RL which is everywhere

LM,
The current TSX is the same as a Euro Accord as well. The question is, how new is the new Euro Accord? We'll have to wait and see. The interior will be updated with new nav, center stack etc. And the exterior is different, but what's underneath...we're not sure how much work has been done.

Here is the new Euro Accord, complete with interior:

It's the same car with smaller wheels and a sifferent grille. Interior looks ok...

Oh no.... Well it does look more sleek though. I bet the next TL will wear the same kinda of grille..

Really ugly. The previous TSX was an underachiever in it's class, and the new one promises to follow it's footsteps. I still have to see what kind of powertrain it will have, but for the money, give me an Audi A4 or BMW 3 series. Hopefully, Acura will come to it's senses and offer AWD and a turbocharged 4 cylinder like the RDX. Truely disappointing Acura!!!

they should sell the Touring model here with the diesel and 6-speed.

To say that this "looks way better" than the other applications of Acura's new grille is a matter of perspective. It still looks like crap. Just slightly less offensive crap.
I did click on the Euro Accord link and think it looked way better. Tell me, why do the Europeans get a classy looking Honda grille while we're stuck with the insults they're peddling from the Honda and Acura dealerships? Are they taking a page out of Ford's playbook???

I'd say Acura was doing pretty good if the only major complaint is the grill. Other manufactueres dream of that status.

Are they -beep-ing serious?!
They have to go back to the drawing board on the exterior design.
If I want a Hyundai, I won't shop at Acura!
But I guess it is too late.
Because according to the following site, it is going on sale in this Spring.

I don't know Troy. The only other luxury manufacturer that really received criticism for a styling direction change was BMW, and if they had waited until after these Acuras came out, they probably wouldn't have been chastised so badly.
This isn't even a new styling direction. It's dated Acura styling (reminiscent of the late 90s for me at least) with a tacky grill pasted on the front.
