Up Close: 2009 Dodge Ram

Ramupclose1

The current Ram is one of the more aggressively styled pickups on the market, and the redesigned 2009 model looks even tougher, thanks to its new grille. The dual tailpipes poking out from beneath the rear bumper are an unusual styling element for the truck segment, but Dodge manages to pull it off.

The redesigned cockpit is a big improvement over its predecessor's, with a luxurious simulated leather dashboard on higher-end trim levels and a clear gauge layout. Material quality is similar to the Chevrolet Silverado, one of the leaders in the segment.

Crew cab models have a spacious rear seat that can comfortably seat adults. Like the Silverado's crew cab, the rear seats flip up in one motion to make loading cargo back there easy. There are storage bins underneath the seat cushion.

The RamBox storage system is one of the Ram's new features, and it eats up some of the cargo bed's space. Nevertheless, the bed is still wide enough to carry sheets of drywall, according to Bob Hegbloom, senior manager for Ram product marketing.

Same old Dodge style, making this another batch of trucks that fade into the pickup crowd.

Maybe going to the darkside (chevy)

Personally think they look horrible. Too much like the current F150's inside and out. What happened to bedspace?? If I wanted rear storage like that I'd buy a minivan. I love my current 03 ram and dont forsee purchasing this new style.

this is the ugliest truck in the PLANET!!!

I find in amusing that people are saying the 09 Ram is ugly. I'd buy this any day over the current or next gen F150s. Where do you get the idea that it looks like a F150?

This is a step in the right direction. All you other guys will be jealous when dodge releases this truck. And once again all you wanna be truck owners will flock to your closest dodge dealer and trade yours for one of these. I love the new aggressive styling of this truck. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. It would be nice to see a special edition that has the 6.1L Hemi in it.

I like the new 2009 Ram new style but with the
new storage compartments right up to the top edge of the top rail how is the tunnel cover
going to work look forward to a reply.

i like this new ram truck. i hope they make a cab version with 2 doors. Dodge has always given
people who love cars and trucks what they want.
and as far as looking like a F150... NOT! thanks and keep up the good work Dodge Boys.

I have worked out of an Avalanche for the past 6 years. Really like the looks of the "Ram Box" storage wells. If Dodge offers these with the Quad Cab and the 6'4" long bed they will have a winner for those of us who "work" our trucks. If they build it I will buy one!!!

looks like a power ranger truck .I guess that is the future for american cars.
