Mazda to Show New RX-8, Furai Concept in Detroit

Mazdafurai

Mazda announced that it will debut two new models at the Detroit auto show next month, one of which is a redesigned version of its RX-8 sports car that the company says has been "heavily revised." There aren't any photos of the RX-8 yet, but the automaker did release a teaser shot of the Furai concept sports car, which rides on a platform used in Mazda’s American Le Mans Series racing effort. The Furai is powered by a 450-hp rotary engine running on E100 ethanol.

finally, mazda needs to add more power to the rx-8 so it can compete with the mustangs, wrx's out there. It has always been a great handling car but it needed more oomph

It's about time mazda did something new. It's been a slow year for them since the release of the infinitely awesome Speed3.

Now they just need to put the Kabura into production. I'd sell my house to buy one of those.

They need to increase the fuel efficiency of the rotary engine if they intend to keep that thing around too. It's pretty bad.
