Dodge Releases First Images of Production Challenger
In an obvious response to a car brochure that was leaked onto the internet a few days ago, Dodge has released the first images of the production Challenger coupe that will go on sale early next year. For those who haven’t already put an order in for the $40,000 muscle car, you’re a bit late. Dodge opened up orders Dec. 3 and quickly filled up spots for the first 5,000 Challengers slated to be built in 2008. In fact, 6,000 orders were submitted, either by aficionados or prospectors looking to resell the cars on eBay when demand is high and supply low. Regardless, we’re very pleased with the revised grille, radical wheels and matte lip spoiler. More photos below.

There will be more than 5,000 Chargers built in 2008. "We have not said what we are going to build," said Kathy Graham, Dodge Challenger public relations specialist, disputing the 5,000 volume number that keeps popping up in the media and on blogs. "We haven't decided yet. It will be less than 10,000."
