Subaru Prices 2008 STI Under $35,000

2008sti

We just saw the new 2008 Subaru WRX STI for the first time in the U.S. a few hours ago, and now we have a price. The rally-inspired hatchback will start at $34,995. There wasn’t much more detail in the press release we were given, but we’ll follow when we can with news on when the car will officially go on sale. If you really want one, though, you can get on a waiting list today.

Did they jack up the price when comparing to the 07?

The price went up $1,500. The STI used to start at $33,495. I think it's a little misleading to say, "Subaru Prices 2008 STI Under $35,000" considering they only missed the $35k mark by five bucks. This news has already made people compare this car to the BWM 335i. I think the price increase will hurt the STI's US sales. BBS wheels are no longer standard and we all know about the great Recaro seats that we can't get. It makes you wonder what we're paying the extra money for.

Just watched the Chevy Malibu ad. It says starting from $19,995. Any difference?

$35,000 for a Subaru!? Thank you for the belly aching laugh.

$35,000 for this Subaru is still way better than a $90,000 Dodge in my opinion.
