2008 Audi S5: Through Ian's Lens

Ianslenss5

Like its big, bulky cousin, the Audi Q7, the S5 is first recognizable by its beast-like headlights and grille. The four rings of the Audi badge shine through the small chrome crossbars, and a tiny S5 badge sits snugly in the lower left corner, making people “in the know” aware that you’re driving a high-performance machine. The design team at Audi loves to play off the dichotomy of the curves in the logo and the vertical and horizontal straights of the grille and bumper. Small LED strips accent the main headlight housing like eyelashes and stay engaged as bright daytime runners. The rest of the car is designed with subtle lines that are smooth but fairly anonymous. I think the design mash-up of both European and Japanese exteriors is what I like most about the S5. It could fly by you on the road, and if you weren’t paying attention, you wouldn’t know what kind of car had just burned you.

The side view of the S5 slightly reminds me of the 1st generation CLK AMG, they look about the same proportion.

The car has a great contrast to the background of the pictures, while the car is sparkling new, the background is full of rusted bridges, empty buildings. Wouldn't it be nice to take them at the countryside?

it looks really sharp in black.

to bad the A5 and automatic-equipped cars wont be around for a few more months.
cant wait for the new A4 though.

I personally enjoy the juxtaposition of the new sleek car against the grit of the city. It offers the car to really present itself without the distraction of a serene countryside backdrop. Nice shots.

Beautiful from every angle except that godawful grill!!That alone keeps me in BMW's evil grip.

I actually like the grill, but the interior reminds me to much of any other car with aluminum trim. I mean, a new Accord has as nice of looking interior as this...

i dont know if the accord has an interior as nice as the S5... the grille looks good to me though

quote - "The Accord has as nice an interior as the S5"??? Dude- what are you smoking? Obviously you have not seen an S5 in person. And even the picture I posted doesn't do it justice.

Its an awesome car, the interior is spot on, classy and definitely not an accord in every way! Looks great from any angle, love the grill.

The S5 is a beautiful car, I haven't found anything that I don't like about it, except dealing with the local Audi dealership in Beaverton, Oregon. Audi still doesn't get the whole "experience" economy, especially when you're planning on spending this kind of dough on a car.

The S5 is my favorite car and Chicago is my hometown. Hell yeah Ian. ANyways, the car is phenomenal - reminds me of the subtle yet masculine car batman used to own. BEautiful lines, wide stance, love the headlghts and grille with the daytime LEDs lights its plain mean. This is a car where style could have you forget what your needs are

I dont really even care for the interior. granted a car of this caliber is expected to have a nice interior but for the price i dont really like it with so many buttons placed where you should really have your coffee. that just goes to show you how great the rest of the piece is...its so beuatiful you can look over many things. I love this car, especially in red!
