Mini Clubman to Start Under $20,000

Miniclubman

The stretched Mini Cooper, dubbed Clubman, goes on sale in February. If you’re already saving your pennies, you’ll need to have set aside $19,950’s worth to buy one. That’s the MSRP for the Mini Clubman with a standard four-cylinder engine. The Clubman S with a turbocharged engine will start at $23,450. Neither price includes a $650 destination charge.

The price is a $1,900 bump from the regular Mini Cooper. Does that sound right to you Mini fans out there?

Other sites are saying $20,500.

We don't include destination charges in MSRP on Cars.com
That's the difference.

Then how is one to know the price? Not all cars have a destination worked into their 'advertised' MSRP. IIRC, the Jeep Patriot, for example, had an advertised MSRP that included destination. I am unsure how many others do this. But thanks for the explanation. Love the kicking tires. I'm surprised there is not more discussion here, though. I give you guys good word of mouth at work. :)

Thanks fThorn.
We try hard that's for sure. I think it's just the fact that there are a lot of other places for people to comment and often we get a lot of just jabs at one make or the other. However, our good commenters are exceptionally informed and keep us on our toes.

Cars.com considers MSRP as without destination so we always try and format price announcements in that way and make sure to list what the destination price is separately. Each manufacturer however doesn't follow those rules and will include a destination charge in a press release. We try and double check all of them to make sure we get them right. If you see one that's questionable please point it out.

OK I'm about done after nearly two straight days in the conventions center. Tomorrow we'll have lots of video and our winnners and losers will probably show up on Monday once we're all back home.
