2008 Volvo V70 Gets Price

Volvov70270

When Volvo rolls out the redesigned V70 at the end of this year, the wagon will have a base price of $32,465, Volvo has put a six-cylinder engine under the hood for the first time, specifically a 235-hp, 3.2-liter inline-six.

The 2008 V70 hopes to lure those moms and dads with a bevy of new safety features, including adaptive cruise control, collision warning, driver alert control and lane departure warning, which alerts tired or distracted drivers when the car begins to wander dangerously.

Volvo expects the V70 to hit dealerships by the end of November.

I can't wait to drive one. We own a 1999 V70, and love it. The safety features on the '08s are unbelievable.

Thynx for heads up on new V-70 pricing. Good to know to compare with XC-70. The new V-70 wins major style points for one huge advantage over the new XC-70: the front and rear turn signals of the V-70 are NOT surrounded by that ugly white-surround that mars the XC70's looks. Some fans would say "ruins" the XC-70's looks. Those ugly white plastic surrounds in both the front and back will make me and lots of other buyers wait until some savvy aftermarket maker starts selling black-out replacements for those white inserts that are the same color as the bumpers. It's that or a black marker! The new V-70 will sell more wagons because they avoided "uglying up" both front and rear looks as the XC-70 designers did.

Those plastic surrounds aren't white. They're a grey color so it matches the color scheme with the body cladding a bit better. But yes I can see why some people would be turned off by them.
