Reader Review of the Week: 2008 Nissan Rogue

We love hearing reader feedback on just-introduced models. Judging by the countless TV commercials and high traffic on Cars.com, we know the new Nissan Rogue is one of those new vehicles that have people intrigued. That’s why we’ve singled out a Miami resident who picked up a new all-wheel-drive Rogue SL, in black, for this week’s no-prize-attached award. As always, you can leave your own car reviews here.
“I purchased the AWD SL version in black with a black leather interior. I added all the bells and whistles as options to the car, and it rocks! When I went to pick it up in the showroom, there was a crowd of people surrounding it. It is a show-stopper!
“My favorite thing about this car is the Bluetooth integration. I love being able to make calls from the car through voice activation. It has never confused a command I speak or gotten a number wrong when I speak to it.
“The leather interior is flawless. You have as much legroom in the back seat as the front. I also love the fact that the glove box is big enough for a laptop. The ride is a bit rougher than I expected. My other car is a 2005 Jetta turbo with a six-speed manual transmission. This car has a little less power, it seems, but still plenty to keep me happy.
“Don’t believe the reviews that say this car does not have the option for power seats. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the driver’s side seat is powered. Also my seats are heated, but I don’t expect to use this option here in South Florida!
“I would like to see the onboard computer be a little easier to navigate. The one on my Jetta was super-easy to see mpg, etc. This one is a bit tougher to coordinate. Hopefully there is a trick that I’m missing. I’d also like to be able to change the readings from the steering wheel, not by pressing the thing on the dash behind the wheel. This is a bit clumsy, but again I could be missing something here.
“This car is great.”

Nice to read a personal review- I've been curious about this car since seeing those cool maze commercials- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5PgHAHAoRw
Anyways, sounds great, definitely more interested in a test drive now. Thanks!
Help--I own a 2008 rogue-small engine-- with 10,000 miles . When the rpm hits 7 and my speed is between 20-40 miles per hour, the steering wheel and accelerator vibrate. If I quickly accelerate from 20-41 miles per hour, everything is smooth with no vibration. Dealer said the vibration is normal due to the new type of transmission in this car.Anyone have any advise on this...do you experience the same vibration. I'm not sure if I should trust my Nissan dealer's explanation that my issue is normal. Please respond to me via rpozniak@hallmarkhealth.org. Thanks
Are you drag racing or something? If you're hitting 7K RPM I'm surprised you haven't blown the engine!!! The redline is around 6200 RPM! I own a '08 Rogue too with similar miles and have NEVER had a problem!!! Especially anything like this! In fact, I LOVE this vehicle and consistently get between 27-30MPG and it drives wonderfully. I think your problem is you and not the vehicle.
Adrian: the problem is not rick (and that was kind of an insulting way to respond).
I just bought a 2009 Rogue and have the vibration as well. Dealers & Nissan claim the vibration is normal, but that level of vibration cannot be good - vibration and mechanical systems don't go well together, and vibration just tends to get worse. Who knows what these cars will drive like in 3 years - probably like a farm tractor. If my old junker started vibrating like that, I'd have it into the shop ASAP or would be looking for a new one. I'm trying to get rid of the Rogue now.
Some people love the Rogue, but if vibration annoys you or you believe that it's bad for the car, DO NOT by a Rogue.
the vibration is not normal.your dealer and nissan have no clue how to fix the vibration, in my case i had to file a complaint with the bbb and had to go to a arbitration hearing and it came out that while the rouge is up on a host the drive shaft binds and the bearing goes bab.
