Ford Sync Nabs Top Award From Popular Mechanics

Sync

The Ford Sync in-car infotainment system earned a nod as one of Popular Mechanics’ Top 10 Most Brilliant Gadgets of 2007. The editors called the system’s voice-recognition capability “the best we’ve ever tried.” They also pointed to the low price of the system and the fact that Sync can read text messages from a cell phone as other reasons it earned recognition.

The only other automotive gadget that earned a place on the top 10 list was the two-mode hybrid system jointly developed by GM, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The first application of the system will be in the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrid SUVs.
