Cars.com Reviews the 2008 Volvo C30

2008volvoc30230

Mike Hanley — that lucky son of a gun — got to put Volvo’s hot new hatch to the test for his latest review. The C30 turns out to be one of the better-handling Volvos we’ve seen in some time, and its standard turbocharged five-cylinder engine is surprisingly sporting. Can it hang with the Mini Cooper S and VW GTI, the current kings of the class? You’ll have to read to find out. Oh, and of course there’s a quick video recap of the glass hatchback, too.

I recently rented one in Germany & got it up to 125MPH on the autobahn, very sweet ride!! My 1st ever Volvo! It rox!

looks pretty cool, but it does not come in a 4-door version or come in a 6 sp. auto version like the GTI does

Oddly enough, all the blue ones I've seen so far come with a Sweedish flag on the roof. At first I thought it was some sort of packing/shipping wrap. But it's a ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR DEALER OPTION!!

Jeeze!

Just when we thought the vinyl roof was dead, we've got dealers putting unwanted graphics packages on the cars!

Sounds like a rip-off of the British flag option on the roofs of Minis.

i saw one of those the other day. it doesn't look right either because the flag's blue is a different blue than the car's and it clashes horribly.

Perhaps they're doing it because the first buyers will be very loyal Volvo-ists who love Sweden? Or they're proud swedes.
