First Look: 2009 Pontiac Vibe
This is the first look GM’s given us of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe that will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month. While it just looks like a slight redesign in this picture, the car is all-new from the ground up. It will still be built alongside an all-new Toyota Matrix. That car will debut at the SEMA show in Las Vegas in early November.
GM says there will be all-wheel-drive and GT versions of the Vibe, and that it will hit dealerships in early 2008. We’ll have more information closer to the L.A. Auto Show.

Now it really looks close in design to the Matrix. It looks alot better and I see it potentially selling better than before. It has a more updated and aggressive front and the lights are what really bring the car forward. The wheels are exceptional. Don't see why they didn't go this alone.

The C panel looks as if it came directly from the Mazda3. I love the Mazda3, but can't bring myself to pull the trigger without AWD. Ladies and gentlemen: may I present a Mazda3 with AWD... Toyotiac Vibatrix!

Does look a lot like the Matrix. Maybe that's why the Matrix is being replaced by the Blade which has a completely different design.

eh...According to Toyota on their website, the new Matrix and Corolla will debut at LA, not early November, but Halloween.
Is this the new Mazda3?

i like it...it looks better then the outgoing model. then again, i personally like the styling of the vibe over the matrix because im not to fond of the flared-out ground effects kit on the matrix. in the old model, the interior, exterior, and engine were all ok, but nothing more. it gets great gas milage, but only has a 4 speed automatic.
if they can fix the driving position, give it a nice interior (that is up to par with the recent trend in GM vehicles...which is good) and give it a six speed auto, it could be a practical, well-selling car.

It is a cool car, by the way the old Matrix didn't have any personality compared to the Vibe.
And Manual transmission, of course... this is a good idea. Sorry we don't have the old six manual tranny anymore.

a little more than a slight redesign...looks pretty awesome. waaaayyyy more macho than before! the previous/current design was nice when it came out, but now its a little too bland. this one will definetly liven things up. Nice work GM!

There should be more GM-Toyota joint vehicles. The joint efforts I can think of did well. Prism-Corolla Vibe-Matrix.
