Nissan Gives Away Five Rogue SUVs on NBC

Nbcgiveaway

The integration of automakers and TV networks is getting deeper and deeper. With the 30-second ad going the way of the dodo bird, we now get characters driving the latest and greatest car or SUV during the shows themselves. It seems NBC’s hit “Heroes” will debut Monday with an extra reason to tune in. Nissan will be giving away one of its Rogue compact SUVs after the show — if you answer a question about that night’s show correctly. Then, for the next four nights, Nissan will do it all over again for other new shows.

This post isn’t to promote the contest, just to point out how car companies are trying to promote their products with the advance of technology. However, if you’re interested in the contest itself, we’ll still point you to NBC’s page about it here.

Remember Nakamura was renting a car, what did he scream for? Nissan Versa...

For a while, I watched Desperate Housewives and wondered which MFG had paid for that episode.

Volvo, Nissan, Mercury, Mazerati(?!?), Ford (Muststang) and Chrysler all made fairly blatent apperances in that show. Only to mysteriously dissappear in subsequent episodes.

Love the show and actually liked how they integrated in the Nissan Versa thing, It fit the Hiro Character well.

Great premier of Heroes. Now Nissan is my hero too. But how did they get tom cruise, julia roberts and ??? to drive the Rogues in the ads?

Last night's Nissan didn't blend in well into Heroes. Remember how Claire reacted? "The Rogue?"
To make things worse, the Rogue commercials being played 3 times in a row, even slightly different, it is still annoying. Can't they just blend in the 3 versions into a long one just for this?

Totally agree with you J on both counts. They are good nissan commercials but 3 in a row? Why not do something special if you're going to put all that money into it. I was counting the amount of time before the product placement. less than five minutes in, impressive.

I will say "The Rogue?!" was better than last year when Hiro screamed "Versa!!!"

I didn't mind seeing the Nissan commercial over and over. It's catchy and entertaining and IMO is much better than a lot of the other commercials on tv. Good job Nissan for awesome placement in Heroes!
