Cars.com Faceoff: Retractable-Hardtop Convertibles

Hardtopfaceoff500

Summer is almost over, and that usually means putting the convertible away for the winter. That’s why many automakers have added retractable-hardtop versions to their lineups. This design allows for all-season driving, and it also makes for a good Faceoff. This year we tackled three cars with vastly different demographics: the Volkswagen Eos, Chrysler Sebring and Mazda MX-5 Miata. It was a tough call because all three cars have such different characteristics, but a clear winner did arise.

They arn't even in the same class.

I highly doubt that someone is looking to buy between a miata or a sebring. They appeal to different people yet they have the same roof type.

It is funny that you guys compared the MX-5 with the other 2, the MX-5 seats 2.
Why not put the G6 Convertible in the comparison?

Zoom-Zoom will always win.

It had to do with which were new for this year. The G6 and C70 have been out for some time but would've been more in line with the other cars I agree.

Out of all those I think the Miata will sell the worse due to small size and the large number of used Miata already out there. I think price will be a big turn off for the EOS. Plus I think alot of Miata buys like cloth from other reviews I have read. For the two thousand dollar difference between EOS and Seabring I'll sure you could of added Stablity Control on the limited.

It is like comparing a dirt bike and a road bike, they both have 2 wheels but they are aimed to different users.
