2007 Frankfurt Auto Show: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Wagon

We were impressed with Mercedes-Benz’s new C-Class in sedan form, and now we’re assured a wagon is on the way as well. The wagon as a class unto itself is dwindling fast in the U.S., but European automakers are still developing them. The C-Class Estate, as it’s known on the other side of the pond, has two distinctly different front grilles, just like the sedan. The Sport model maintains a large emblem front and center, and the Luxury model features thin lines more akin to the larger S-Class.
The new C-Class wagon has almost 10% more cargo volume than the outgoing model. There’s also a standard collapsible shopping grate, which sounds useful even though we’re not sure what it is. There’s also an optional power tailgate and additional storage dividers.
With this radically different new look, perhaps the C-Class will rekindle the motoring public’s love for wagons. More photos below.

Didn't they discontinue it here?
They didn't bring it over for 2007 but I don't think they used the term "discontinued" the new C Class is slated to hit the states as far as I know. I'll try to get confirmation on that today.
No, I know the sedan wasen't I'm talking about the wagon that they stopped making in I think 2005 along with the coupe
PS,
I think it was always available in Europe though no?
yeah once the c-class wagon left the US market i thought it was pretty iffy whether or not we'd get the next gen wagon. especially with the glk headed here. i'd love to see the wagon come back to our shores, but i wouldn't bet on it. most mercedes wagon buyers in the usa step up to the e-class.
having a wagon like that would make them seem almost "cool"
Just returned from a trip in Europe, rented the c classs wagon with 220 cdi (diesel) engine and nav system. A few comments.... the nav system was fantastic...if you are over there, do not rent a car without this system...got us to our destination exactly, quick to enter address or poi.
The engine has 295 foot pound torque, which meant accelerating from 100kph to 150 kph was very rapid....mountain driving and AVERAGE 140kph (87mph) got 35mpg!!!that's impressive on a spacious, solid luxury car with 3 adults plus luggage at anything but economical speeds!! Comfortable ride, pretty reasonable handling...
