Cars.com Reviews the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Nissan jumps into the compact-SUV fray with the all-new Rogue. It won’t go on sale until next month, but I got a chance to drive a few of them from Baltimore to historic Gettysburg, Pa. I was impressed with the Rogue’s handling and performance and think it’s just enough SUV for the type of buyer interested in this segment. Whether or not buyers take note is another question entirely, but since almost every compact SUV is selling like hotcakes, Nissan should have a hit on its hands. The review is at the link below, and an extra photo gallery from my trip is also below.
2008 Nissan Rogue Expert Review (Cars.com)

It looks like the honda, ford, saturn and toyota have some competition on their hands. Maybe not honda but the rogue will likely take a good market share from the others. I like the looks of the rogue. I know several people that own the murano and love it. This should be a good seller for nissan.

PS
That's the first thing came up in my mind when I first see the taillights.

The face on this trucklet is hideous. Anyone else here thinking that Nissan's design studio is the red-headed step child compared to Infiniti's?

I still can't belive this segment has the legs it does. CUV's bore me. Still I DO like the front clip. I like the chrome insert in the center grill. I like the Orange and the Blue.
But most of them will be grey.
(reminds me of that commercial where the Valet's are going nuts because all the Lincolns and Caddys looked the same?)

I have just finished a road trip of a bit over 1600 miles.
We drove from Bellingham, Washinton State, to Whitehorse Yukon.
During this trip because of the time of year we ran into and through every type of driving condition you can imagine.
We had dry hot weather to start, this turned to pouring rain, which in turn changed to a full blown snow storm in the mountains north of Fort Nelson.
We had slippery icy roads, and near colissions with Caribou, Moose, and Elk, as well as Bison.
All systems worked as advertised, when we went into a skid on ice, the brakes worked well when suddenly an animal appeared out of the snow on the highway.
This is a solid well built vehicle and the power and drive train system could not be better.
