What Are The Top Gay-Friendly Cars?

2007yaris

It's no surprise that the vehicles most researched by gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender shoppers are those produced by gay-friendly automakers.

In releasing a list of its Top 10 researched vehicles, Gaywheels.com said the 10 in most demand are the Toyota Yaris, Saab 9-3, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Eos, Dodge Caliber, Toyota Camry, Audi A3, Volkswagen Rabbit and Infiniti FX.

The Yaris displaced the Saturn Sky roadster as the most researched vehicle. The Infiniti FX was a new addition replacing the Pontiac G6.

Gaywheels.com classifies vehicle manufacturers as gay-friendly or not based on their corporate policies for offering domestic-partner benefits to their employees in the U.S.

Gaywheels has been keeping tabs on gay-friendly vehicles on a quarterly basis for the past 1.5 years. The latest findings were taken for the quarter ending June 30.

"Since the inception of this list, the Top 10 Most-Researched Vehicles have always come solely from gay-friendly automakers, delineating the importance of a brand's corporate policies and positions in regard to the gay community," said Joe LaMuraglia, founder of Gaywheels.com.

My Miata is gay? Holey shirt!

Snake

Any tracking on where the F-250 fits in?

dave

lol, while I am personally against homosexuality, this would play a small role in car-buying, for me at least.

Now to me, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia all make good cars.... but I am a DIE-HARD GM fan...Chevy, Saturn, Pontiac, GMC, damn! I like Dodge too.

Oh well. I'll get the car I like lol.

Dean

It wasn't enough that the gays had to ruin the rainbow for everyone! Now my Jetta is gay.

LM

Dean, the rainbow isn't ruined and the Jetta was always a gay car, not just now. Roll with it, consider yourself fashionable and move on.

I'm surprised there are no Subaru vehicles. I decided I do NOT want a Legacy 2.5GT when I saw a Subaru gay-targeted print ad that read, “One man's lap is another man's luxury.” CRAP!!!

Jenki

mr. ed - You didn't know that your Miata was a gay car? Personally I didn't need a gay rights group to tell me that!

So let me get this "straight"...cars are coming out of the closet now?

Affecting your car-buying? Not wanting to buy a car due to an ad?

...you're kidding me, right? *Eye roll*

LM

Passing on a Legacy GT because of an ad shows how ignorant you are. The Legacy GT is a fantastic car with few equals for the price.

Is there someone that keeps track of the top friendly vehicles for African, Asian, Latino and other Americans? How about friendly vehicles for females vs. males? Or those that are atheist, Muslim, Christian, or Hindu? If there is can you post this information so that sexual orientation is not the only basis that gets special attention. Thank you.

SmithSanchez

I think this list is pretty useless, most of the gays are not funny, artsy-fartsy, rich, urban people as the main stream media want us to believe, and a lot of them don't even care about these organizations.

Most of them will buy the car because they need them or they like them, not for cutesy.
