2007jeepwrangler0604

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into 2007 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models due to reported instances of engine stalling at highway speeds. The government agency has received 53 complaints of both two- and four-wheel-drive models losing electrical power and lighting.

The 2007 Wrangler has been a huge success for Jeep since its launch last year.

I expect all the Toyota Tundra bashers who chimed in when the 20 engine failures were reported to chime in equally towards this domestic brand. This will be the test to see if people are as unbiased as they claim. Brand loyalty aside, lets see what folks have to say here.

Even with electrical failure wouldn't you be able to safely pull off the road? Cars of the past could continue running on only battery power at least for a little while. Is this still true with newer models?

Please, stop the Toyota crying already. It's funny what you consider bashing though... Automatically saying something sucks without justification is bashing (like many do with the domestics).

This is surprising, because this isn't a new engine. This is the old pushrod 3.8 Chrysler puts into their minivans, but I believe it's the first rear-wheel drive application.

I agree Cody. I'm not a fan of Toyota but, if you read the Tundra recall topic, you'll see where I'm coming from as far as bashing goes. It's odd the 3.8 is having issues. That's one reliable engine!

Maybe it's a Mercedes part?
