Honda Prices 2008 Pilot, Changes Trim Levels

2008hondapilot

The 2008 Honda Pilot went on sale last week with two new trim levels and prices. Instead of the previous LX base level trim, the Pilot now has two- and four-wheel-drive Value Package trims, or VP. There‘s also a trim level situated above the EX, called SE for Special Edition.

The Value Package has new standard equipment from the 2007 LX, including steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, a six-disc CD changer, additional speakers, XM Satellite Radio, roof rails and body-colored side mirrors, door handles and spoiler. The Special Edition adds a DVD rear entertainment system, XM Satellite Radio, a moonroof and ambient lighting to what is offered on the EX trim. Keep reading for full pricing and new EPA ratings.

they need to quit making these! they are so ugly and the controls are so out of place and awkward!! The interior is CHEAP! I test drove one with the leather seats and I felt I was sitting on a tablecloth!! No padding!! It rides like a tall wooden wagon and its just UGLY!!!

This can't touch my acadia, GM has set the standard again!

Nameless,
Please tell me you are not on drugs.

I agree that the Arcadia looks better, however, I don't believe in the interior controls' part is true at all.

Nameless,

The Acadia looks great and I'm sure it's seats are comfortable. I do however, argue against your point of the Pilot's poor ride quality. I've been in one and found it to be comfortable with a smooth, quiet ride.

I think you're simply biased to your favorite brand. There's nothing wrong with that. I admire it.

The Honda Pilot has been around for a few years with good reason. Refined drive train, reliability, good resale value, decent looks and customer satisfaction.

GM has a good thing going with the Acadia. The General has been slipping the past few years so, they need a homerun.

they have a homerun
and its ACADIA not ARCADIA

the radio and other buttons are stacked just in the wrong order, just like hyundai, they have the most distracting layout!

GM has no standard wtf are you smoking? this is far better then the GMC Acadia piece of crap that GMC sells that thing is OVERRATED like the Aura. Keep trying GM try try again. When Honda redesigns the Pilot it will crush and smash the Acadia.

Amen Jon, although I think the Acadia is an impressive machine from GM (wow... that was weird), I would never trade my 2003 Honda Pilot for one, although its showing its age, it holds up quite well to even brand new contenders like the Acadia, and I expect Honda will make a worthy successor to the current generation of Pilots.

Guys,
Any strict bashing of one company or another will get deleted. We've been straying away from it. If the anonymous poster doesn't start signing his or her name and toning down the brand bashing we'll ban his/her IP address.
Lately the comments have been very good so I'd hate to see it go back to "Brand X sucks" etc.
Thanks,
Dave

I thought the Pilot got redesigned for 2008, instead of a mid-model correction. I suppose the redesign is slated for 2009?

I drove a Pilot recently and was extremely impressed with the overall smoothness of the car. The four-cylinder in the CR-V is really smooth for a four, but still not as smooth and quiet as a six like the one in the Pilot.

NO BRAND BASHING!!

NO BRAND BASHING!!

Keep it real dudes - the pilot rules -

The pilot is the finest automobile in the world

I never even sat in a Pilot, but I read all good things about it. I recently drove all 3 GMs, the Acadia, Outlook and Enclave. They drive like big Sedans, my favorite feel. I am looking to lease something and I will include the Pilot in that mix to try.
