Jeep Compass Gets Rallye Package

Rallye

The new Jeep Compass has gotten a lot of grief for its looks, and considerably more for its on-road driving attributes, from Jeep and non-Jeep enthusiasts alike. Maybe that’s why Jeep is adding a new body kit from its in-house go-fast shop Mopar for what it says is a limited time. Click the photo to the left for a larger image and click here for a side view.

The nice thing is that this isn’t a dealer-installed package, it comes straight from the factory. The cost is $1,850 for the Limited Rallye and $1,985 when it’s added to the less-expensive Sport model. For that price you get:

  • Mopar body kit
  • Unique 18-inch black aluminum wheels
  • Rear spoiler
  • Auxiliary driving lights
  • Bright exhaust tips
  • Chrome badging

So what do you get when you pour syrup on a turd-pancake? Why, you get a syrup covered turd-pancake, of course!

I think it looks kind of cool but it doesn't cover up how dissapointing the compass is. Maybe a SRT version would perk it up.

miked, I think you nailed it. Even a hemi SRT version of this pathetic, misguided, doomed vehicle would not save it.

Come on Jeep, give the thing a power boost & retune the suspension if its not going to be much capable off road, at least make it adequate on road.

Cmon guys, the jeep compass does have 1 fan, though it is too expensive for its fan, but when my mother first saw it, she goes whats that, I told her, and she goes I like that its cute and something I would drive, if I could afford it, and she will be 70years old next month.
I myself like the patriot, but for me it would need some extra power, where I live there arent many places to do offroading, nor have I ever done any. So I really could care less if either of these were good offroad, but I agree Jeep should at least make them good on the road.

Too little to late?

This is what I thought the Compass was gonna be like when it came out. I thought it was gonna be a WRX-fighter and maybe even enter the WRC series. So a year after it's released with the "stuffed chipmunk" front bumper, it gets the front end it was SUPPOSED to have in the first place.

But now instead of a performance package, we get a dress up kit?

Why not bring back 'performance decals' like in the late 70's?

Assuming Chrysler lives much longer it's gonna operate like GM used to. The last model year of the car, when nobody care anymore, is when they finally get the whole package right.

I'm not gonna wait that long.

Wow! Another thing to look forward to. I'm pretty sure Compasses owner and fanatics would like to have one. Jeep maker and producer of durable accessories like Jeep car bra - http://www.jpartsonline.com/jeepcarbra.html - has continuously fascinate its consumers by giving and providing such innovations and upgrades to its product lines.
