Hyundai Prices New Veracruz Crossover
That’s less than the Saturn Outlook, Mazda CX-9 and V-6 Toyota Highlander, but for some reason Hyundai compares it to the much more expensive Lexus RX 350. We like apples and apples around here, and if you beat the real competition on price, why not say so? Full price breakdown on all trims below.
- Veracruz GLS FWD $26,305
- Veracruz GLS AWD $28,005
- Veracruz SE FWD $28,005
- Veracruz SE AWD $29,705
- Veracruz Limited FWD $32,305
- Veracruz Limited AWD $34,005
$690 destination charge not included

They compare it to the RX330 because as you say, it makes their price point look better, even though no buyer in their right mind would really compare a Hyundai to a Lexus.
That and the fact that they compare the SantaFe to the Highlander already, even though it is much more on par with the RAV4. But, of course, they'd rather compare the Tuscon to the RAV4, even though Hyundai's is a noticeably smaller SUV.
The price differential isn't so favorable when they do the proper comparisons, so they don't bother. At least not what they used to be when Hyundai first started selling cars in the US.

No one in their right mind would compare it to a Lexus. Oh and I am sure that comment is justified because they have driven the latest from Hyundai...like the Santa Fe and the Azera. Hyundai's are now easily on par with Toyota's, if not better (Azera and Santa Fe vs. Avalon and Rav4) and even Motor Trend stated last month that the Santa Fe was on par with the Highlander via a road test. Anyway, ignorance lives on due to prior perceptions. Drive an Azera or a Santa Fe and you'll understand.

I've had the opportunity to check out the Veracruz at the Detroit and Chicago shows. I don't care for the lengthy overhangs, but the appearance inside and out is refined and upscale. The interior is among the nicest in the class, perhaps the nicest, and the third row can fit adults in a pinch.
I think this could be the first Hyundai bought for how closely it fits the needs of target customers, and not just because of the price.
Got any pricing for the option packages?

my point in the post was why compare yourself to a luxury vehicle when you beat everybody on price? You know the Highlander isn't going to go down in price with the new model.
Anyway, yes Hyundais are much improved these days and content and fit and finish are comparable to Toyota in most applications. Honda is still probably a small step up.

Nice looking vehicle!! My only complaint after owning a Hyundai and living in Korea for two years is this. Hyundais are engineered very well. Their downside at least in my experience, is that normal itmes like CV shafts, belts and other high use items wear out quicker than in other makes and models of cars. This causes more maintenance. Which is required normally at the dealer per their mileage schedule to maintain your 100,000 mile warranty. Is the lower price tag actually lower during the ownership period???? However, a nice looking vehicle that should hold up well, be comfortable and look good in the years to come.

Hey people!! you know for some reason, hyundai is now comparing with ver. to lexus Rx, or azera to avalon... i now understand why they're doing it. well 1st of all, i just visited s.korea recently and i went to hyundai dealer. Wow, when i looked at the interrior, it's much diff than in U.S. it's got navigation, Xeon high quality headlamp(for azera) etc. and when i came here, i looked at the other cars such as lexus RX, Toyota avalon and highlander, Veracruz is compatetive with RX!! Again the car in Korean was much better than in here and avalon looks crappy, after i test drived.. Hyundai is now making a high quality cars. They recieved 3rd highest quality cars, just one spot behind lexus and 2 steps from Porsche. But, still long way to catch up with M.Benz, or BMW!!
