Think Electric Car Company Returns From the Dead
Norwegian car company Think — once owned by Ford — is coming back to life. The company went out of business a year ago but has raised new capital to relaunch its Think City electric car. The new model is based on a car Ford invested more than $100 million in before it sold the company to be liquidated. The kicker is Ford could really use some electric technology these days, and its funding is basically helping this reborn company. Think says the new model will have a range of 110 miles and will meet all U.S. safety regulations. It will go into production this year, but the company is only taking orders for Norway delivery at the present time.

I predict you will never see this car in the states and will probably never even hear about it again. Kudos to Ford for dumping this company and getting back to their core business. I hope they continue to sell off their other niche brands as well.

Why does electric car have to look like a toys r us toaster? I think chevrolet finaly understood that an electric can have style (ref. the volt)

finally? Chevrolet* doesn't make an electric car..if you are refering to a goofy looking car, point the blame at the prius.

The Volt will, sadly, sell. It looks like Chevy's of old and it'll probably have every recall in the book.
Also the Prius will remain the #1 seller. Chevy makes gas-guzzlers. Toyota doesn't.
Actually I changed my mind about the Volt. It WONT sell. Chevy will spend too much on the technology and not work on the quality at ALL!

Chevy makes more vehicles that get more than 30 EPA miles per gallon than toyota.
Also, Toyota has made more recalls than vehicles sold last year.
This blog isn't about pro-imports or pro-domestics, so please quit targeting me on every comment I make. THANKS!

V Lopez is right and wrong:
the only reason GM has more 30 mpg cars is because they have more cars period on the road than anyone else. I believe Honda is still the most efficient even when you exclude the insight hybrid.
Toyota has experienced some very large recalls in 2006 and 2007. They're going through growing pains as they become one of the top two car companies in the world.
GM has been working on interior and is certainly the top domestic automaker in that regard as of today. they still have work to do to compete with the imports but you can actually see the improvement. The volt looked good to me at Detroit and EVERYONE called it the car of the show (the Jag looked better of course). Still, it could be quite a looker and performer. We'll have to wait and see. Making a judgment now doesn't make sense.

I've been looking for an alternative to a gas car for sometime. I went to Norway in 2004 and arranged to bring the newer TH!NK to Canada. We toured it, tested it and made a number of pre-market presentations. Keeping this message short,I am confident that you will be able to buy this car in North America with an improved range of 200 miles in less than 24 months. I am directly involved in making this happen

I would buy this car in a second. I am so utterly fed up with gas-hungry vehicles in this country (USA). I will, however, be suprised if this oil-controlled economy will ever let this car see the light of day in the U.S.
Yes, bitter is an understatement.

Mr. Braden, if what you say is true, you are my new hero. I mean it. I'm a Canadian living in Australia who has become obsessed with electric cars. While there seems to be little progress being made to get EVs on the roads here, it is so good to see yet another country taking a step forward. I'll be eagerly watching news feeds to see any follow-up to your claim and I congratulate you in advance.
When the time comes I'll start pestering my friends and family to go get one of those awesome cars.

It is too bad the American car companies are still pushing gas guzzlers. China is activly working on several NEV's (Inner City) cars and it is only a matter of time until you see highway capable cars from them. I would much rather buy Ford but I won't buy a gass hog and they leave me no choice. I'll start importing them myself if I have too but we have been sold crap for too long. The slick adds the big car companies put out for the Suuu-Veeee's (calling hogs) will only last so long and as most of the population wises up payback is going to be a bitch.

What is the cost of your electric car, this should be on your web sit and where we can go to look at them and drive one? Thank you! Chris Mason

I believe we will see a transition from ICE (internal combustion engines)to electric cars in the near future because of the battery technology in lithium ion. I also believe the price of fuel will rise with supply and demand. As you guys bicker about this company and that you are neglecting one thing. The only things holding the electric car back are range and the cost of the battery. Once the range is further than most folks drive and its cheaper than ICE it will be uncool to be polluting the atmosphere like smoking or peeing in ones pool
