How to Garage a Ferrari

You see them valeted at the nice restaurants, right up front. But what happens when an exotic car has to go home? More than likely, it has a nice garage, but even we were surprised to see the home of this Ferrari F430 Spyder.

This Arizona Ferrari owner decked out his three-car garage with a wall of cabinets, a display case, refrigerator and of course, a flat screen TV. Oh, and a spot for the Ferrari, of course.

The photos below come from PremierGarage, one of a few companies that sell and install garage “solutions.” For most of us, a solution would include a few cabinets, a place for the golf clubs and maybe a nice workbench, but most of us don’t own Ferraris.

A lot of newer homes that I see have insulated garages (I'm guessing it's code now), but uninsulated garage doors. World of good that does! Even if it's totally insulated, you still need a heat source in the winter if you're doing any work out there. For the couple of times a year it's necessary, we have a kerosene heater for this purpose (and it's nice to have a backup in case the house's furnace fails). If you can get a 220V circuit and a hidden place outdoors for the compressor, a mini-split HVAC system would allow you to retrofit A/C and heat to a garage. That, to me, would be the ultimate garage!

Wonder if the garage is his only laundry room (I assume the owner of the house and Ferrari is a guy), or if the washer/dryer is a secondary unit for shop rags, dirty/greasy clothing from working on cars, and the like?

Looks better and is bigger than my apartment! The car lives better than me, than again I'm worth $300,000. It's a Ferrari, if you can afford one you can afford to give it the royal treatment.

I'm actually a bit surprised it's not carpeted.

It's got some kind of high end flooring treatment. Probably a lot more expensive than carpet ;)

Wow, what a show-place. I'm so grateful to even HAVE a small one car garage for the first time. I boarded up an old carport on the lot I bought. It has a dirt floor. I picked up a big piece of old carpet someone threw out and now I've got orange shag carpet on my garage floor. But it's better than laying on dirt when I work on my car! My big dream is to someday have a CONCRETE floor in my next garage!

And what will happen to this person if he or she should lose all that money they have? What will happen to their precious Ferrari and high-end garage? Nobody ever thinks about stuff like that. (this i know from experience, dad had a job, got laid off and yea)

Don't have a ferrari, just three normal cars: Navigator, Grand marquis and a new ford fusion. Our garage is heated in winter though and airconditioned in summer. Its carpeted to like the rest of the house. I believe I've seen a ferrari parked in a carpeted garage also.

There would have been a day when my jaw would have dropped and my envy button would have been squarely pushed. (Back in the 80's, maybe). These days, I'm more inclined to the "what a hideous display of consumption" camp. It's not that if you are able to do this you should give it all away and live in a mud hut, but good grief! Flat screen TV in the garage? If you're that addicted to the tube, perhaps you should spend it on therapy, and improve yourself instead of your garage. Better yet, donate to a local food bank, where you might stand a chance of solving a real problem.

Oh please Anne this guy probably donates thousands of dollars to charities. So would you rather all the rich just horde their money in the banks and not help our economy by spending money?
